 MUSIC BUSINESS, ADMINISTRATION, SALES, TRAFFIC & FUNDRAISING : This internship allows interns to work directly with members of the Administration Department, Underwriting, Traffic, and Development Department and offers hands-on experience in fundraising, information management, nonprofit and music business.

Education: At least 1 year of high school

Tasks: Tasks vary in each internship but can include:

(Beginning): Filing, data entry, phone calls, mailing merchandise to members

(Intermediate): Database management, volunteer coordinating, securing food donations

(Advanced): Reporting, scheduling on-air spots, reconciling program logs, interacting with members and sponsors at our events

Qualifications: See General Qualifications. Previous experience working in an office, doing data entry, working with databases, or coordinating events a plus!

Skills learned in the internship: Depending on the skill level of your internship (beginning, intermediate or advanced),Filing, Written and Verbal Communication, Customer Service, Database and Reporting, Project Management, Problem Solving, Scheduling, Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, HR policy

Hours: 10-20 hours a week, to take place during business hours (M-F, 9a-6p) 
ONLINE, BLOGGING AND WEB SERVICES: This internship allows interns to work directly with members of our Online Department and offers hands-on experience in web design, social networking, blogging and more!

Education: At least 1 year of high school

Tasks: Tasks vary in each internship but can include and may not be limited to:

(Beginning) Routine updates of our Facebook page, writing weekly blog articles.

(Intermediate) Assisting with securing podcast licenses, basic web development.

(Advanced) Advanced level web design and development, project management.

Qualifications: See above for General Requirements. We also look for knowledge of HTML, familiarity with twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites. Knowledge of flash, Javascript, ajax, Google Apps, .net, .ne and C+ a plus!

Skills learned in this internship: Depending on the skill level of your internship (beginning, intermediate or advanced), skills learned include: HTML, Customer Service, Written and Verbal Communication, Filing, Experience with and knowledge of Social Networking sites and music blogs, Database and Reporting, Project Management, Problem Solving, asp.net, Google Apps, API, .NE

Hours: 10-20 hours a week, to take place during business hours (M-F, 9a-6p) .
AUDIO AND VIDEO PRODUCTION: This internship allows interns to work directly with our Production and Online department, and offers hands on experience in live sound, recorded sound, video production and more!

Education: Some recording or video school or at least 2 years experience 

Tasks: Tasks vary in each internship but can include:

(Beginning) Filing, database management, maintaining sound equipment, band hospitality

(Intermediate) Photo editing, assisting our engineers at live-remote broadcasts and in-studio performances, basic sound editing.

(Advanced) Filming and editing video for our blog and video podcasts, sound production for our on-air pre-produced spots

Qualifications: See above for General Requirements. We are also looking for people with experience in live and recorded sound, video editing, and advanced photo editing skills.

Job Description

Responsibilities: 
•Performs necessary analysis and planning to assure that the objectives and priorities for each sales call are established and met in time frames acceptable to the client 
•Participates in the development of multimedia marketing opportunities to grow new or current revenue. 
•Sells advertising time to and works with clients in an assigned territory; maintains and grows current business 
•Identifies and cultivates personnel in targeted accounts who make or influence advertising and related event purchasing decisions makers 
•Develops or coordinates the development of sales presentations to clients and potential clients; proactively develops new business 
•Addresses or participates in addressing clients’ concerns, questions and objections; works to close sales with each targeted client
•Participates in negotiating pricing and advertising placement and content, and event concepts
•May cross-sell other Debar platforms such as Music, Entertainment, Television, Home Show Divisions 
•Keeps sales management apprised of progress toward established revenue goals and of the progress in closing identified prospects
•Stewards proposals, deals and post-deal analyses
Desired Skills & Experience
Basic Qualifications: 

•Has a good understanding of television advertising and sponsorship deals and is able to develop deals that attract and keep customers while generating targeted revenue 
•Has some local media contacts
A minimum of 5 years of selling experience, with at least one year in team supervision or as a lead 
•Has a working knowledge of marketing program implementation and basic competence in selling 
•Has basic leadership skills 
•Has good understanding of the market programs of assigned Debar’s properties  

Preferred Qualifications 

•Is able to develop deals that attract and keep key customers 
•Is establishing a track record in media, publishing or advertising sales 
•Has some success in developing, closing and maintaining strategic advertising accounts and events deals 
•Has basic leadership skills 
•Has good understanding of the market programs of assigned Debar’s properties 

Required Education: 

•BS/BA Degree
